What is PDF QR Code Insertion?

PDF QR code insertion is the process of placing QR (Quick Response) codes in documents to provide easy access to websites, payment links, or verification pages. PdfMetric's PDF QR Code tool adds customizable QR codes to your documents, enabling links to websites, inventory tracking, event tickets, business cards, and payment links. It is also used for document verification; the scanned code redirects to a verification page.

QR codes are two-dimensional barcodes in a square matrix format. They can be read with a smartphone camera and instantly open a URL, text, or data. The most common use is linking to websites; scanning a QR code on a business card or brochure opens the website. In inventory tracking, QR codes on product labels or warehouse documents enable stock tracking. For event tickets, QR codes are used for ticket verification and entry control. On business cards, a LinkedIn profile or portfolio link can be added. Payment links allow placing a scannable payment link on invoices or proposal documents. Document verification redirects the scanned code to a verification page for fraud prevention.

QR codes can be customized in size, position, and error correction level. High error correction (H or Q level) allows even partially damaged or dirty codes to be read.
